|

WHAT IS THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE?
Therapeutic massage is the scientific manual manipulation of the body’s soft tissues for purposes such as
promoting circulation of blood and lymph, relief from pain, restoration of nervous and respiratory systems and
other benefits, both physical and mental.
WHO WILL PERFORM THE MASSAGE?
Your session with JadeGrafix will be conducted by a licensed and certified massage professional who has
been trained in a variety of techniques.
WHAT MAKES A MASSAGE THERAPEUTIC?
Your massage will increase the red blood cells in your blood stream, which helps you feel more energized.
Working soft tissues improves your body’s circulation. This helps to supply important nutrients to the cells, as
well as allowing the cells to dispose of waste products more efficiently.
HOW DOES A MASSAGE HELP PAINFUL OR TIGHT MUSCLES?
Whether you have a short-term muscle cramp or a chronic muscle problem, a massage with JadeGrafix can
relieve symptoms by kneading and stretching to relax the muscle.
WHAT IS AN ON-SITE CHAIR MASSAGE?
This type of massage is done using a specially designed chair and recipients remain fully clothed. No oils or
lotions are applied. This treatment focuses on the shoulders, neck, upper back, head and arms – the parts of the
body that store the most stress and tension. Chair massage is available for conferences, workshops and other
special events. Chair massage is performed on an ergonomically designed portable massage chair. You sit on
the massage chair facing forward, with your head in a face-rest. Chair massage is especially effective at
producing therapeutic results in a brief period of time by concentrating the massage on the areas of greatest
tension.
Do I remove my clothing?
No. During a chair massage, you remain fully clothed. At most, you may be asked to remove any jacket or
obstructive jewelry during the massage.
Do they use oils during the massage?
No oils are used in chair massage. Sometimes a light and absorbent lotion is applied during hand massage.
Please let your therapist know if you prefer no lotion.
What are your policies regarding cleanliness?
The massage therapists clean & disinfect their massage chair, face-rest and hands between each massage. Each
massage recipient also receives a fresh face-rest cover to ensure cleanliness.
What if I want more or less pressure?
Just ask! Our massage therapists are trained to adapt to a wide variety of body types and sensitivities to
pressure. The therapist will check in with you during the massage, but never hesitate to let them know your
preference.

massage they will ask if you have any specific concerns. Keep in mind, that the more time spent on this specific
area, the less time spent on the other areas..
Will I be tired afterwards?
It's easy to mistake a sense of relaxation for fatigue. In our experience, however, after a few minutes needed to
"re-adjust" to the surroundings - massage recipients are more alert and focused then ever.
In fact, research has shown chair massage recipients to be even more alert than before. See the chair massage
benefits page for more details.

Gratuities are not expected or necesary, however they are an excellent way to let the massage therapists know
that they've done an outstanding job. If you choose to tip, the average amount is 10-20%.

Massage can be very beneficial for women during pregnancy. However, be sure to let the massage therapist
